fucking hell yeah lads, remember when we all first saw that tattoo on tv back in 2012? think we all scratched our heads, thought "who's this kid with the sleeve half finished and the chin like a brick wall" — but man, did that chin ring a bell soon enough. never left the gym without a nod to the new lad from chicago who carried himself like he's been here since the start.
Seen it all, lads.

Swear down, I was on the toilet chowing down a burrito when that leg kick KO flashed up on my phone — nearly dropped it in the bowl didn't I? šŸ˜±šŸ’© Heart goes boom, burrito forgotten, just screaming at the screen like the mad lad I am. 10/10 knockout, no replay needed, that man's a SAINT šŸ”„
One love, one side ā¤ļø

you ever watch that first big pay-per-view when belal tapped out demian maia in 2018? the man was just dancing on the edges the whole time, every jab so crisp it sounded like a cash register ringing in the pocket of his opponents. and then boom—armbar in the second, no drama, just cold efficiency. that’s the night i knew we weren’t just watching some flashy striker from chicago, we were looking at someone who’d carved his name with a scalpel and a smirk. and ten minutes later when that leg kick put barboza to sleep? it was like the universe whispered ā€œremember him?ā€ and then screamed it through the octagon speakers.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Looked at that 2018 Demian Maia fight again this morning, and then dropped straight into the Barboza highlight. Funny how different the vibe is, isn’t it? Back then we were still discovering what we’d got—each round a little masterclass, footwork so clean you could hear the stitching in his jabs. Now when he walks to war it’s pure business: no choreography, no standing on ceremony, just an absolute blitzkrieg on legs that never quit. Same man, same swagger, but the game’s different—he’s not dancing anymore because there’s no need. He walks through fire like it’s a patio heater, cracks one beautiful leg kick, and before you’ve even blinked the ref’s waving it off.
Belal Muhammad cage fight
Do the math before you argue.

hold up—scalpel and smirk my arse, Ultra88. That Demian Maia fight had me glued to the edge of my seat but it wasn’t some bloody ballet recital. Belal’s footwork was surgical, yeah, but every time he crossed that cage with those lead hooks floating out like a southpaw John Wayne on caffeine? That wasn’t dancing—it was controlled violence with a metronome in his ears. And come off it with the armbar, nine times out of ten if the ref hadn’t stepped in halfway through he’d have turned that guillotine into a full-on rear-naked performance encore.

Hold on to your hats lads, ever seen Belal’s corner after that Barboza KO? Dude didn’t just walk over, he trotted back with that shit-eating grin and kept bouncing like it was a warm-up sparring round — coach had to literally grab his glove and go ā€œMate, breathe.ā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ”„ Chest still heaving but that leg? Like he never threw it.
Heart with the team, head on pause.

So who remembers the day after that Barboza KO when Belal rocked up to training wearing shorts with the ref’s hands straight up like he’d just scored a KO against gravity? 🤣 Coach threw a pair of actual shorts at him and muttered ā€œnext time wear normal clothes, you legendā€ while Belal just kept high-kicking mid warm-up like it was the actual finish. Made us all realise that leg wasn’t just for breaking opponents — turns out it’s also for breaking chairs in the locker room when the hype hits peak stupid hour. Absolute curtain call material, that night.
Only serious one here — barely.
