Word is... Giménez at San Siro’s got that heart, mate. A £60m punt that’ll have him smashing the Premier in a blink, no cap.
It's a lottery, not sport.

Pereira’s shadow? nah mate, his SHADOW should be a canon 🔥 giménez blasts em off from every angle like he’s already sick of scoring in the champions league 😤 borja? more like borja “bore-us” if he’s not in the box 90 mins a game
Heart with the team, head on pause.

Giménez—love the energy on him, but let’s keep the dream alive with some cold feet planted firmly on the ground. At 24, the age fits a project beside a 32-year-old like Alex; his athleticism and end-product per 90 (roughly 0.75 xG combined with his left foot) scream “lethal off the bench” rather than “£60m punt.” The issue isn’t whether he’s heart, it’s whether Inter will even list him in their striker department next season. Their ownership structure? Tight. Budget priorities? Lautaro Martinez (if they sell), market values? He’s edging toward €80m on every reputable tracker I’ve watched. Inter’s hierarchy won’t blink at a £60m bid—too small. They’d laugh you out of Milanello unless we’re talking pure rental (lender fees usually eat the upside). Borja Bastón’s cheaper, older, proven Championship goal poacher, but that positional profile looks more “third striker” than “shadow with thunder.” Giménez hits the sweet spot on paper; getting him out of Italy without burning double the budget is where the dream hits the wall.

Saw Giménez live for Hull back in 2019 — bloke absolutely battered Forest at home, two goals in first twenty minutes just banging in from six yards. Deadly as they come inside the box, no tricks, no chasing lost causes. Still, every time I look at Inter’s wage structure I picture Lautaro in Milanello’s lift pressing his exit strategy like a vulture. £60m for a 24-year-old with one decent season on record? More like £80m if you believe the blokes tracking his market value. My mate who does transfers for the third tier club said Inter’s list price is non-negotiable unless you’re offering him on a three-year loan with zero option to buy — and even then they’ll knock you down to a £10m fee just to avoid dead weight. Still better than Borja’s “come-by-chance” profile though; that man’s had more clubs than I’ve had hot dinners.

Joey from the Terrace yells "Oi—wake up, lads! Giménez IS the canon firepower we’re screaming for—the man’s got that finish in his boots like a mini Romário." 💪🔥 Saw him banging headers against Chelsea in the UCL proper last year, absolute beast—no soft touches, just wham bam into the net. Inter’s gonna hang on tight sure, but we’ve got the brass balls to outbid their tight-wad owners for once, yeah? Stick 60 mil on the table and tell ‘em it’s “third kit launch money” or some shit, they’ll wobble!

So tell me—did you lot just watch one too many El Clásico reruns and wake up convinced Real Madrid’s transfer committee now owes us a personal apology for skimping on the 2024 edition? Last I checked, the Inter hierarchy aren’t some giddy Barça ultras who’ll hand Giménez over for the price of a season ticket to Meazza just because Joey from the Terrace screamed “mini Romário” in a pie-line voice for three minutes straight. 📊 We’re talking Milanello: they’ve got Lautaro flirting with the idea of a Champions League life raft and a board that treats every zero on a cheque like it’s printed in cursed ink. Giménez may rattle stadiums with headers that sound like a coffin slamming shut, but let’s not pretend a €60m punt isn’t code for “Inter is humouring us while they wait for Lautaro to land a €120m move.” Borja Bastón might as well be a ghost from a Championship EA career-mode sim—cheap, yes, but would he add more lethal value than a warm pint at half-time? Santiago? More like Santiago-re-negotiation—Inter’s list price is already creeping past €80m because some Italian outlet had him “linked” to every team in Serie A except Cremonese.

ever seen a man walk into old Trafford and carve them up like it was sunday league sunday – just some lad off the boot trying to look big. that boy Giménez did exactly that last october, two goals with his head and one with his left foot like he was showing off how bored he is out there. borja’s the bloke who’ll nod in a cross then wonder where the keeper went, but Santiago? that lad scored more headers than most centre backs dream of. you reckon we’re chasing dreams because we mentioned mini Romário – joey’s got a point in his boots mate.

Saw Giménez shagging a header at Craven Cottage last month like it was Sunday league with actual defenders—no drama, just bam, net. Inter’s the main issue, sure, but how many times you reckon Lautaro’s sat in that lift looking at a Champions League spot and thinking “better boots for January”? Half the board probably still uses Excel 2010.
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Giménez scored a screamer at Villa Park last November when the cameras almost didn’t bother to follow it. Beautiful finish, no doubt—banged it in off his left peg like he’d spotted the gap in sleep—but those Inter lads still wouldn’t part with him for pocket change unless you chucked in a free Lautaro and a crate of Moretti on the side.
Alex Pereira weigh-in
Where's the proof?

remember when we were all hot and bothered over that scouse lad from burnley, the one with the surname that sounded like a sneeze? ended up at west ham for peanuts and then vanished into championship obscurity like a guy who booked a holiday cottage and forgot to pack a coat. half the thread was screaming "worldie potential!" while the other half were already drafting the "i told you so" board. time will tell, eh? still reckon we should press our luck while alex’s fists are rattling jaws – imagine throwing a middle finger right back at all those "but what about the striker?" whingers.
Been here longer than some have followed.
