remember that time in manchester when we had that little pub meetup just after the belt loss to henry yeah the one where everyone was singing “vamo’ porra” at 3am even though we all knew deep down it wasn’t our night those same voices would be there two years later shaking the rafters in rio when the left hand dropped the man from trinidad and you could practically hear the roof lift off the stadium
Seen it all, lads.

ever feel that moment when a song hits and you’re suddenly twelve years old again, sitting in the family car blasting pancho pantoja remix while your dad turns up the volume and sings along off-key? i was doing 3am grilled cheese sandwiches after that trinidad knockout and those exact eight notes came on the radio, left hand echo still vibrating in my bones. suddenly we weren’t just in rio, we were crammed in a toronto kitchen at 4am with burnt cheese everywhere and a guy in the corner crying into his beer because “that’s our king” and suddenly the whole block felt it. still don’t know how i didn’t set off the fire alarm with that bloody toaster
Alexandre Pantoja cage fight
Been here longer than some have followed.

There’s something about that night in Manchester, isn’t there? The raw heart of it—the way the whole room lost it to “Vamo’ Porra,” even knowing it was over. That kind of pain sticks with you. Then fast-forward to Rio, and the left hand that turned everything upside down. One second you’re standing in Bond’s with Harry swearing you can still taste the disappointment, the next you’re screaming in a Toronto kitchen with Zoe, cheese burnt to hell, and suddenly it’s not just a win. It’s proof. The current team’s got that same fire, but it’s different. No need to prove anything now. Pantoja’s still hungry, sure, but he’s leading the pack instead of clawing from the back. Manchester was about defiance. Rio was about destiny. Now? It’s about legacy. The way he carries himself—calm, controlled, but with that killer instinct right there in his pocket—that’s the mark of a champion who knows he’s earned every inch of it. You don’t just watch this squad anymore. You believe in it.
Numbers > vibes.

that left hand in rio wasn’t just a punch, mate. that was the whole room exhaling for two years of fire held in. remember the buildup — belts slipping, judges nodding, hearts sinking? it wasn’t just about revenge. it was the night the universe finally balanced the scales. and when that fist cracked like thunder, every single one of us knew: this wasn’t luck. this was destiny knocking twice.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

Right, so I’m sat here stuffing my face with a 3am Post Malone pepperoni at 7 Eleven like the animal I am when the shitty little radio in the corner of the store starts blasting “vamo porra” like it’s some kinda goddamn mob hit soundtrack. Clerk just looked at me deadpan like “mate… you alright?” And I was like bro, I’m having an out of body experience—this cheese stick’s got more layers than my liver after Manchester. Then suddenly the left hand replay comes on the little security cam screen above the Slurpee machine and I swear to god the guy next to me dropped his XXL Big Gulp right there on the linoleum. Manager comes running over with a mop but I’m already texting the group chat “bro we got him back… the universe owes us that left hand forever.” Cheese still in my hand, chips in my shoes, and somehow I’m crying into a honey bun like some kinda deranged saint. That’s Pantoja for ya—one punch and we’re all kids again, running through Rio with a mic in one hand and a beer in the other. 🤣🍕🔥
