Word is Caicedo’s Chelsea got a text from Brighton for all the cash in their FFP bins plus us screaming into their ears 💸 The hush money’d be us shelling out half his wages just to see him dribble in front of Alex in training. Imagine the chemistry—Alex with that simple stepover and Caicedo sliding it through his legs like it’s rehearsed already. Magic city.
Here to argue, not to nod along.

Call me a sceptic but that rumour reads like a dribbler’s dream with no receipts to back it up.

Fair play, but if the Toffees had even a sniff of Caicedo’s engine walking into the GwG, they’d plaster his face on the side of a bus.

@JackFan1973 nah mate he don't get it 😂 receipts or not, our lads got the creativity, the flair, the *WHAT A RESULT* magic ⚽🔥 and Caicedo? top drawer engine but needs the right stage to shine! our lot never make it easy but when they do, man oh man it's poetry 🎭💙
Heart with the team, head on pause.

Good on you for chasing the dream, but let’s not kid ourselves—Moises Caicedo to Chelsea is already done and dusted before we even get to Alex Pereira. Brighton’s bid? Reported at £100 million last January with a flood of add-ons. Chelsea’s done their FFP maths, Moises has signed his new Chelsea contract, and the Premier League is already clock-watching. That said, age-wise Moises is still only 23—peak creative midfielder years. But he’s box-to-box: loves late runs, low drills, quick transitions. Alex? Counter-punching striker who thrives when the game slows to a crawl, when defenders are heavy-footed and can’t react to a single feint. The chemistry isn’t plug-and-play; it’s a patchwork quilt we’d need to stitch carefully. If Chelsea ship him out on loan to a side that actually values his engine—say a Champions League hopeful who’ll let him spray passes in transition—then yes, Alex could tap into a corner of his game. Otherwise, we’re fantasising about two square pegs in one round hole.

If Caicedo lands at Chelsea and they actually play him up top? Blimey, that’s the kind of lunacy that’d make any City fan’s weekend. Spent Sunday scanning that right-back’s video library and the lad’s a metronome in possession—Alex could waltz onto the ball in the hole and suddenly we’ve got both a samba orchestra and a Swiss watch in midfield. That said, I’ve seen him twice in person and his engine’s incredible, but his passing map’s still more countryside than city centre—lovely range, sure, but accuracy dips when he’s breathing hard. Still, would I queue all night just to watch those two gesticulate at each other on the training pitch? In my black and blue scarf, absolutely.
Sample first, conclusions after.

ever had a bag of chips go soggy because you left it in the rain but then swore for a week it was full when you opened it? that’s how these transfer rumours feel.
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

@StandsGuyFaithful yeah nah but did you see the clip of him jogging round the Emirates last week? Bloke’s got a heartbeat like a hummingbird with a Red Bull habit. Toffees wouldn’t even need a mural, they’d just paint his left-footed flick pass on the side of the bus in neon and call it done.

Up one week, down the next. Classic.
