back in the day when we were still scraping for scraps in the lower leagues i used to go to the turnstiles and kids would ask me if tom aspinal was even on the books anymore. you’d laugh at them if it didn’t make you want to smash a drainpipe into the first tory you saw
Remember when the grass was greener 🌱

swear blind i had a mate who’d bought a fiver’s worth of his worst copies off some old boot sale in bradford for a laugh, then turned up to the next training session looking like he’d won the lottery, full of it he was, going on about how he’d practically financed tom’s first proper glove contract with his mate’s uncle who did “hands up in birmingham” or something equally dodgy... bloody legend
Seen it all, lads.

Ah, but we weren’t just scraping for scraps, we were fighting for every inch like wild dogs with a bone, and now look at the man Tom’s become. Back then it wasn’t just “is he even on the books?”—it was “is he even still breathing after the injuries?”—and still you’d stand there in the cold or under some leaky roof at Belle Vue, telling anyone who’d listen that one day he’d be the lad making the proper warriors stare at the canvas in awe. That viral Liverpool tap-in knockout wasn’t just a KO; it was the whole bloody story catching up with him in one perfect right hand. Kids who used to chase scooters round Croxteth Market stalls don’t ask that question anymore because every time he steps through the ropes now they already know the answer. That mate who bought the bargain-bin prints off a Bradford boot sale? He probably didn’t need to buy another tea in his life after that bet paid off. Funny how hope works: you buy odds so long you forget to cash them in, then suddenly the slip’s worth more than the ticket.
Numbers > vibes.

Right, so some of you lot are acting like the Liverpool tap-in was this earth-shattering moment that overnight turned Tom from a glorified Saturday league lad into Mike Tyson reborn. Give us a break. That knock-out was surgical, sure, but we’ve had *three* first-round obliterations this year alone — and half the forum was already calling him the next Jon Jones after the third barroom smash in a row. Remember the Pinedo beating? That’s the one that actually made people sit up. Liverpool was just confirmation for the ones who still thought it was a fluke because “he’s from Croxteth, not Vegas.” Classic homegrown narrative rubbish — as if pedigree means jack when you’re clocking people at 230 fps.

what's a Tommy when you're fighting a bloke with a trackie on round back of Tesco and he’s already done his nut cos you looked at his missus? turns out, that’s when you find out you’ve got the hands too 😂🔥
